What does working with an ND actually look like?

1-

An extended first appointment that delves into:

  • Your chief concerns (in order of priority)

  • Your health goals

  • Your past medical history, family history, and mental/emotional health history

  • Your digestion and nutrition

  • Your energy, sleep, stress, and mood

  • Your previous labs

To optimize this first visit, please:

1). Fill out intake form at least 24 hours ahead of the visit (the sooner the better)

2). Email your collection of previous lab results to the office (having copies of the last few years helps us collect an organized health history)

Dr. Kate reviews your case and formulates a highly individualized treatment plan that blends traditional naturopathic knowledge, lab testing, and the latest evidence based guidelines.

Her approach in designing your treatment plan is grounded in:

  • listening deeply to your story, your symptoms, and your health history

  • utilizing lab data to help identify root cause of symptoms and safely tailor individualized treatment

  • identifying ways to be preventative in your healthcare

Hydration.

Nutrition

Food really is medicine.

Individualized goals.

Working within your preferences.

Supporting the gut microbiome, cardio-metabolic health, and neurotransmitter production.

Nutraceuticals

We don’t want to just create expensive pee.

Prioritizing supplements.

Using research supported formulations to increase absorption and functional impact.

Utilizing high quality combination products when possible.

Botanical medicine

Honoring both tradition and evidence.

About a quarter of today's prescription drugs trace back to plant compounds, from aspirin (willow bark) to metformin (French lilac).

Utilizing these medicinal herbs is not black and white. Meaning, many herbs beautifully augment traditional medications so you don’t have to choose one or the other.

Labs

Testing not guessing.

Multi-system.

Comprehensive but individualized.

Interpreted with through the lens of optimization and preventative medicine.

Teamcare

I strive to help you develop a team of expertise.

Holistic care also means multi-disciplinary clinical minds working together, with collaboration itself centered on putting you first.
